I then prepare a design, and we refine it together, keeping what you like and changing what you don’t, until you’re happy.

Once the design is agreed, I secure the site so it stays online and your data stays safe. This includes rate limiting and firewall rules to guard against attacks intended to take a website offline, such as DDoS. If your site needs a database, customer accounts or a members’ portal, I also make sure they are encrypted, secure and set up to the standards expected of them.

Hosted on my own server, with one person to contact if anything needs fixing.

Your site is hosted on my own server, not passed to a third party. If something goes wrong or needs changing, you deal directly with the person who built it. You can choose the level of ongoing support that suits you from the plans below.

A website only helps if people can find it. Once your site is live, I set it up correctly with Google and keep improving how it appears in search, so people looking for what you offer are more likely to find you. Results take time, so the dropdown below explains how it works and what to expect.

How does SEO actually work?

SEO (search engine optimisation) means making it easy for Google to understand your website and show it to people searching for what you do. In practice, it comes down to four things:

Getting on Google’s radarI connect your site to Google Search Console and submit a map of your pages, so Google knows they exist and can start listing them.
Showing up locallyI set up or update your Google Business Profile, which is the listing that appears in Google Maps and “near me” searches.
Speaking your customers’ languagePage titles, descriptions and headings are written around the words people actually type, like “garage door repairs in Leeds”.
Staying fast and phone-friendlyGoogle favours sites that load quickly and work well on mobile, so I check and improve both.

How long does it take? SEO isn’t instant. Google can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to list a new site, and it often takes three to six months of steady work before you see a real difference in where you appear. Nobody can honestly guarantee a number-one spot. What I can do is give your site the right foundations and keep improving them.

Hosted prices come with a hosting plan (from £10 a month) for a minimum of 12 months. If you move away sooner, the difference to the website-only price becomes payable. Multi-page and custom sites need a 50% deposit before work starts. Final prices depend on the size of your site. See the terms.

Plan prices are a guide and depend on the size of your site. Custom sites need Hosting + maintenance or above. Unlimited changes are handled one request at a time and cover your existing content and design; new features are quoted separately. Website prices are listed above.

How long does a website take?

You’ll have a first design to look at within 10 days of our first conversation. From there it depends on how many rounds of changes you’d like: we keep refining it together until you’re happy, then it goes live.

What do you need from me?

Mostly a conversation. I need to understand what your business does, who your customers are, which pages you want and the colours and style you like. If you already have a logo, photos or wording you’d like to use, please send them.

Where do you work?

I’m based in Leeds and work with businesses across West Yorkshire and anywhere in the UK. Everything can be done by phone, video call or message, so you don’t need to be nearby.

Who owns the domain name?

You do. You buy the domain in your own name, so it always belongs to you, and I connect it to your website for you. If you already have a domain, I can connect that instead.

How and when do I pay?

Your price is agreed in writing before any work starts, so there are no surprises. One-page sites are paid for once the site is live. Multi-page and custom sites need a 50% deposit before work starts, with the rest due when the site goes live. Hosting plans are paid monthly.

Every invoice arrives by email with a secure link to pay online.

Who is responsible for my customers’ data?

You are. If your website collects personal details, such as enquiries, bookings or customer accounts, your business is responsible for them, and I handle them on your behalf.

That means it is your responsibility to check whether you need to register with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and to have a privacy policy on your site. I’ll point this out when we start, but I don’t manage it for you. The detail is in my terms of business.

What happens if I want to leave?

You can take your website with you. I’ll hand over the website’s code so you can host it wherever you like, and your domain is already yours.

If you took the lower hosted price and leave within the first 12 months, the difference to the website-only price becomes payable.

Can I change things after the site is live?

Yes. The Hosting + maintenance plan includes small content edits each month, and the Ongoing updates plan lets you change the site whenever and however you like. On Simple hosting, changes are quoted individually.
